Abstract: I am glad and honoured to have been in charge of this journal for another year. First of all I wish to thank all the authors who submitted papers for publication in the EJPD. Up until November we received 35 contributions and other ones are expected to arrive by the end of the year; of those we were able to publish 26 in volume 8. The others will be published during the year 2008, in the next volume 9. We are honoured to have received papers from Europe (Albania, Germany, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Spain, UK) and outside Europe (Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Syria, USA) to secure the international style of the European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry.
A short presentation of the articles published in the present fourth issue.
A very original contribution is the article on pacifiers: once again the information is useful not only to orthodontists, but also to all the paediatric dentists who are involved in prevention and are consulted (we hope) by parents in the early ages of their children.
Some articles on prevention: a new interesting in vitro research on Casein phosphopeptides efficiency in remineralisation and against demineralisation; mouthguards are recommended for trauma prevention during sport activities in paediatric age. Other observations are reported with an epidemiological study in preschool children. Still interesting is the subject of sealants: in our pages the evaluation of various materials is presented.
Canadian researchers reported some observation on root resorption after orthodontic therapy in the early mixed dentition, suggesting careful diagnosis before treatment planning.
Oral Health Indicators complete our pages: this is the first outcome of an interesting international project that we are very honoured and glad to publish.
Finally let me emphasise the great acceptance of our new website (ejpd.eu) useful to many researchers who already consulted it.
We thank also Google for the good service done: when you visit ejpd.eu with Google you are guided directly to the various options between every page (home page, article submission, fast search with keyword, etc). Searching for our website using other keywords (i.e. European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry) lead to multiple results, and therefore our site might be more difficult to locate. Please remember that free registration is required only to access to the full texts or to contact us for article submission or any other questions.
Keywords and any word included in the title can be used for fast search in our web site.
