ABSTRACT
Aim
Dental treatment under general anaesthesia is one of the options for young or uncooperative children, and disabled
patients. However, special considerations are necessary before proceeding with this form of anaesthesia. This article reviews the
indications, complications and safety factors, the anatomic and physiological considerations, drug interactions, current treatment
outcomes and the reasons for repeated anaesthesia for the provision of dental treatment under general anaesthesia for
children.
