Abstract: Teeth alignment devices: to be used to the best of our knowledge and belief.
This is the principle inspiring Tommaso Castroflorio in his clinical activity. Dr Castroflorio is a dentist specialised in orthodontics, with a PhD in Morphological Sciences and is Professor of Orthodontics II at the University of Turin, where he is also deputy director of the the Orthodontics Specialty School. “The branch of dentistry closest to medicine” he says.
“In nature, what works well is also beautiful”. Tommaso Castroflorio quotes his teacher, Professor Pietro Bracco of the University of Turin, to introduce interceptive orthodontics. From Professor Bracco - he explains - he inherited his passion and skills for orthodontics, a discipline that he now teaches in the same University.
“I have been fascinated by orthodontics more than by any other branch of dentistry”, he says, “because it is the closest to medicine and it will greatly benefit from it in the near future. It will follow the trend of pharmacological therapies, which are becoming more and more customised”.
