Abstract: Paediatric dental organisations have a long history and are well consolidated in Europe. This is highlighted by the many congresses taking place this year throughout Europe. in December the Italian Society of Paediatric Dentistry (SIOI) will celebrate in Rome its 50th anniversary, the French Society celebrated its 40th in May and the European Academy organises the 8th biannual congress in June. Every four years the Mediterranean Societies organise a meeting: the one held this year in Marrakech (Morroco) was the 6th, while the first one took place in Barcelona many years ago.
Thus Paediatric dentists have many opportunities to meet and exchange knowledge, researches and their clinical experiences and ultimately all this helps the progress of the children’s dental health.
And the European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry, as well as other journals published in English and in national languages, also contributes to and promotes this large exchange of knowledge and information.
Our pages are open to paediatric dentists from around the world and the present issue publishes a paper from Germany also due to the collaboration with a Syrian author. We are glad to open our pages to the Mediterranean area.
