Abstract: This issue will arrive to our readers right before the 24th IAPD Congress in Seoul, South Korea, and we are glad to publish two articles submitted from that country. The congress attendees will have the opportunity to discuss with the authors in person about the needle injection technique or how a complicated crown root fracture can be managed.
In addition, as reported in the News, please note the upcoming 17th SIOI Congress, with national and international invited speakers. This will be the last meeting organised by the current SIOI President, Prof. Giuseppe Marzo, since during the April Spring meeting it was elected the new Board of Directors for the years 2014-2015, and the next President is Prof. Raffaella Docimo (2nd Rome University)
Another new entry of our editorial board is Kasia Emerich coming from Poland, who will act as trait díunion with East Europe. I had the chance to appreciate her expertise and help during a past collaboration in favour of an Italian kid who underwent traumatic avulsion of a tooth while visiting Poland a few years ago.
We announce the resignation of Rita Cawels from her position as Associate Editor, only a few months after her acceptance. Iíll be happy if she decided to cooperate as referee to secure our high standard with her experience.
Unfortunately, Livia Ottolenghi from Rome resigned as well from her position as Assistant Editor after many years of fruitful cooperation. Due to the dramatic increase in the number of submitted articles (from about 100 to more than 250 per year) we need to replace her with two other Assistant Editors. We therefore thank Gianmaria Ferrazzano from the University of Naples and Luigi Paglia from the Stomatology Institute in Milan for having accepted to cooperate with the EJPD.
In the present issue we publish articles on various topics: from endodontic techniques and pulpal reaction to temperature to various papers on orthodontics in children with researches and case reports, as well as the use of laser in caries removal and coagulation during intraoral soft tissue surgery. We also present an interesting paper on Streptococci biofilm on orthodontic brackets, which will be followed by a similar article by the same authors on periodontogenic bacteria.
The next issues will be devoted to a main topic: psychology and dental management of young patients, and dental and oral symptomatology in obese children, a current problem.
