Abstract: Paediatric Dentistry has great interest in basic and applied researches, clinical experiences and epidemiological studies, and in the relationship between oral conditions and general health or diseases.
In the present issue we are publishing:
two researches on operative dentistry (about residual monomers from dental composites, and in vitro microleackage evaluation in vitro of bonding agents),
and three clinical researches, about the relationship between oral health and coeliac disease or othitis media, the latter is directly connected with general pathology; and the other one deals with an interception technique on for atypical swallowing.
In addition one paper is an anatomical study about the relationship between crowns dimensions of permanent and deciduous molars, and the last article is an interdisciplinary aepidemiological survey conducted by paediatricians and paediatric dentists: it is an useful and welcome collaboration!
Finally two case reports: one about a rare pathology, and the other one about a modern therapy in anodonthia with implant technique in a young patient.
The International news section is enlarged because of ithe importance of international events:
the Iberian congress in Oporto, Portugal, the EAPD in Harrogate, UK, the IADT world meeting in Verona, Italy, and the future Mediterranean meeting in Beirout, Lebanon; in addition are presented information on other future meetings.
We are very glad to note how much hard work of National Paediatric Dental Societies do to favour the international exchange.
Let me emphasise the congress in Beirut next October organised by the Lebanon Society, which is to do a meeting between the Mediterranean Societies: it is an opportunity to know different points of view in on child oral therapy and to create a new
association between these Societies to maintain and favour the permanent contact and to the interchange of information and scientific knowledges between these Societies for the benefit of child paediatric dental and oral health.
